Christmas Time Is Here...

Here it is again… Christmas seems to come around faster and faster each year, doesn’t it?  Maybe it’s because I’m another year older, or just that I’m busier than I used to be; regardless, the season is here again with all of its wonder and flurry.

Speaking of flurries, :o) I just got done with a wonderful week at Parkside’s Annual Christmas Concerts where I sang “In the Bleak Midwinter” with the fabulous choir and orchestra.  I basically was at Parkside every day for the last week.  We all had such fun, though, and it was so neat to be a part of the concerts again!  There were four concerts this past weekend, three rehearsals and, well, a lot of stuff going on, including a private party gig with the jazz trio, church services, etc.

This year, I also got to sing a duet at the concerts with my friend Justin Hartman.  We sang the Josh Groban/Brian McKnight version of “Angels We Have Heard on High,” and, let me tell you, those guys know how to use proper breath support!  Justin and I had the serious task of singing while barely breathing during that song.  It’s a marvelous arrangement, (I was so excited when I found out we were getting to sing it) and the challenge of performing it after having sung it together just three times through before the first concert was really quite a thrill ride!  Thanks to those of you who came out to one of the concerts and said hello!  It’s always so fun to see you!

There are quite a few pictures in the gallery from the concerts since so many people were kind enough to take pictures and send them to the website.  Thanks to those of you who sent them!

Before I forget, I also wanted to mention how much I enjoyed being asked to sing at Novo Lounge in November!  I had a lovely time singing in such a unique venue that is really dedicated to great music and mellow atmosphere, not to mention, that the view of the Cuyahoga River through the glass walls is stunning!  Everyone was so nice, staff and audience included!  Guests even got up from their tables and were slow dancing to some of the romantic tunes.  I always love it when that happens!

Next up: Christmas Eve services and, eventually, a little rest & relaxation, or perhaps just a food coma after Christmas dinner…Either way, I, have to say, I do welcome the brief respite.  :o)

Well, I guess that’s all for now; not as exciting or eloquent as some of my past entries, perhaps, :o) but I at least wanted to take a few minutes to wish you all a wonderful holiday season!  I hope you keep checking back, have signed up for my e-mail newsletter, and have ‘liked’ my page on Facebook so that we can keep you in the loop on the good things to come!

I think it’s going to be a fabulous New Year!  New music is on its way, new appearances on the horizon, and many new songs to be written, old songs to be sung, and all just waiting to be shared with you!  Thank you, once again, for all of your support over this last year.  I’m looking forward to all that 2013 may bring…

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! ~Tara
