It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year...

And the busiest!!!!!!  Can there be enough exclamation points on this?!?  Probably not.  I barely have time to write this, but wanted to wish you all a wonderful holiday season!  This is, no exaggeration, my craziest December yet.  In short, I’m singing in Chagrin Falls Studio Orchestra’s Christmas Show, which plays at Chagrin Valley Little Theatre and the legendary Hermit Club at Playhouse Square for two nights each, and also sang in Parkside Church’s Annual Christmas Concerts as a soloist.  All shows feature full orchestras and fabulous Christmas music!  I just have had to learn it all… :o)

And, to top off this whirlwind schedule of double rehearsals in different locations on the same night, culminating last week with a four-concert weekend at Parkside, I came down with horrible cold and cough symptoms the first week of December.  There’s been a lot of praying and vitamins going on in my world.  Resting hasn’t been all that feasible, but, in lieu of that, I certainly drank a number of gallons of decaf green tea with honey.  Our sound guy at Parkside asked me if my trusty University of Akron travel mug was glued to my hand.  I wasn’t sure that it wasn’t…

Anyway, back to the holidays, which include the pending and inevitable ‘New Year’ looming on the horizon:  I’ve decided that one of my New Year’s resolutions is to try to have a few more journal entries than two for an entire year!  Ha!  Yeah 2011 wasn’t my best journal year… But, really, in my defense, I have been trying to post various updates and things to Facebook now that my page is up and running this year.  If you add that up, it has to equal something, right?  You can’t do it all.  Facebook, YouTube, website, e-mail - what else do I feel behind in?  You get the idea, and I’m sure many of you feel the same way.  But the main thing is that I really am trying to keep up communication.  Just sign up for everything, my e-mail newsletter, check my website for News and Journal updates, and ‘Like’ my Facebook page, and you won’t miss anything!  :o)

Perfect, now that we have that solved… What else?  I guess I should get back to my rehearsing and just say that I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!  Know that you are all so important to me!  I’m looking forward to the New Year – I think there will be some really exciting things happening in 2012!  So, stay tuned!  Here’s a toast to the New Year: that 2012 will be filled with new music, new opportunities, and many blessings for all of us.

Cheers, ~Tara
